Itinerary:


Sticking to the Stone Mountain theme this Saturday....This will be the third AOC on the mountain!

So now we will have a D2, D3 and D4 option on Saturday the 19th!

We will meet at the conferate hall near the bathrooms a few minutes before 3 for introductions.

We will hike to the top at our own pace and meet up top for a few minutes and then head on back down.

It looks as though we will have perfect fall weather!

 

 

Additional Notes:

1. Itinerary is subject to change before and during event.


2. Restrooms are available.
 
3. Free parking is available at MARTA PARK n RIDE parking lot. It is less than a half mile walk to the park and the entrance is near our meeting area. Please take the time to look at the park map and parking options in order to be on time!


4. THE HIKE WILL START FROM THE CONFEDERATE HALL PARKING LOT NEAR THE BATHROOMS AT 3:00 PM. ARRIVE A FEW MINUTES EARLY FOR INTRODUCTIONS.

Hiking boots or trail shoes, running shoes, etc.

Directions To Confederate Hall Parking Lot:

To the main entrance- From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel about 7 miles and take Exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. After entering the main entrance, proceed straight ahead. The road will fork at about 1 mile - stay to the right. Continue to follow the road for another mile. Confederate Hall will be on your left. (Careful - there's a stop sign in front of Confederate Hall for those entering the West Gate.) The parking lot will be immediately after. Wait for the group near the walk up trail.


MARTA PARK & RIDE LOT
Free public parking in Stone Mountain Village

From Hwy 78 take exit 5 - stay right for a half mile - then a quick exit to E. Ponce/Stone Mtn. Village. At the end of the ramp turn left. Drive a mile or so into town. Turn left on East Mountain. Turn right on Fourth Street. There you will find the MARTA park and ride.
 

Notes:

Parking fee inside the park is $20 or $40 for annual pass.
