Itinerary:

Hello hikers! Let's go for a (moderate paced) 6-mile hike at scenic Sope Creek trail! This is not a beginner hike because it includes an elevation gain of about 700 feet and includes a few steep places to hike. We will hike around a 2.6 mph pace.

This trail includes a number of diverse landscapes including Sope Creek (tributary of the Chattahoochee River), a variety of trees, a small pond and a number of ruins from a Civil War-era paper mill on the banks of the creek. Sope Creek is one of many parks in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and a popular place to visit.

During our hike, we'll briefly stop to take photos near the mill/creek during our hike. Your trip leader likes to take photos of these scenic areas.

Following the hike, we'll gather at a nearby Starbucks for a post-hike coffee/snack for those who are interested. The Starbucks is about a 4 minute drive from the park.
