Itinerary:

Thansksgiving week makes for light traffic and disrupted schedules... Join me on Monday for my Wednesday hike on a beautiful trail near Clayton GA to Rabun Bald.

We will meet at the Clayton Ingles at 8:30 to consolidate cars for the final push to the trailhead. There is very little parking at the trailhead, so all participants must meet at the Ingles.

We will begin our hike on the Darnell Creek trail with 3 miles next to its' namesake creek before hitting the Bartram trail for our climb to Rabuns Bald. There are two water crossings on the Creek trail that may be as much as shin deep. Water shoes are highly recommended. Rabuns Bald, with its' stone fire tower will make a great lunch spot with 360 views and a comfortable lunch. After lunch we will retrace our steps back to our cars. If we have oodles of time we will take a detour to Flint Knob for another expansive view.

This is a difficult D5 hike with over 3000 feet of elevation gain. Recent D5 experience is required to join the fun.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
