Kennesaw Mountain - 10 Miles - D5

Join me for an exciting in-town hike at Kennesaw Mountain!

We’ll start by hiking up and over both Big Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw, then continue on to Burnt Hickory Road, past the 3-mile marker. After a short break, we’ll retrace our steps back to the Visitor Center.

Next, we’ll tackle the same route again, over both Little and Big Kennesaw, and continue until we reach the 2-mile marker. We’ll then retrace our steps back to the Visitor Center, covering a total distance of 10.2 miles.

This is a self-paced event, so you can hike with the group or hike at your own pace. However, please note that you must complete the hike within the allotted time to receive full credit and follow the described route.

Event Details:

• Difficulty: Low-end D5, with an elevation gain of approximately 2,500 feet.
• Prerequisite: Recent AOC D4 experience is required. If you’ve completed qualifying hikes outside the club, please email me before signing up. If you do not have recent D4 experience, you will be placed on the waitlist.

Park Pass Information:

• Day Pass: $5, or purchase an Annual Pass for $40 at the Visitor’s Center.
• America the Beautiful Pass is also accepted.

Facilities: Restrooms and water fountains are available at the Visitor’s Center.

Important Notes:

• Please arrive a few minutes early for introductions or restroom use before we begin.
• We will start the hike on time.
• If the main parking lot is full, please use the overflow lot and allow extra time for the 10-minute walk to the Visitor Center.

From I-75 North:

Take exit 267B onto SR-5 Spur South toward US-41, Marietta

Turn right onto Church Street Extension NE

Turn left onto Old US-41 Hwy NW

Turn left onto Stilesboro Rd NW

Turn left into the Visitor's Center parking lot.

Hike will be cancelled in case of bad weather.
