Itinerary:

North Soddy Creek Gorge

It has been 3 years since I did this hike... time to do it again!

We will start at the Little Soddy Trailhead. We will start walking through an old mining area and parallel Little Soddy Creek as we descend into the gorge. We will cross the creek and start our ascent out. We will then have a ridge walk and enjoy the views of the gorge until we descend again, this time to cross the boulder filled Deep Creek. Back out, then in the gorge we go as we make our way to the 100 foot suspension bridge that crosses Soddy Creek. This is where we will stop for lunch.  We may go a bit further to explore the gorge or explore some side trails before retracing our steps back to the car. We will be moving at a fast-moderate pace (2.8 mph average) through out this hike so we have time to stop and enjoy the highlights.

There is one creek crossing that MAY require wet feet... water shoes are recommended.

This is a D5 event, you must have recent D4/D5 experience to join the fun. I reserve the right to move members to the wait list.

This hike is near the Central time zone, all times listed are in Eastern time.
