Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Come join me for this popular hike up Yonah and Pink mountains.  The iconic profile of Yonah is an ever present sight from many hikes in the North Georgia mountains.  Its large exposed rock face offers a great view and is a popular spot for rock climbers.

This is a new hike for me but I've heard great things about it and expect most folks have hiked it before.

Trailhead parking is off Chambers Road.  We'll head up the trail then follow the spur to Pink Mountain first before doubling back to complete the climb up Yonah mountain where we'll plan to have lunch.  Highlights include expansive views from the top, an Army Ranger training camp, and some steep trail sections.

This is a D4 hike with some short, steep climbs.  Total distance will be around 7 miles and around 2000 ft elevation gain.  We'll keep a quick pace but not too crazy. Recent D4 experience is needed to join this hike. Expect an email from the trip leader to assess your compatibility if you don't have any D4 hikes in your AOC profile over the past few months.

Kudos to Greg for his previous event posting.
