Itinerary:
Join me at Kennesaw Mountain for a 17.5 mile hike . (1 pass over the mountain)

We will start, a bit early, at Burnt Hickory parking (Also called Pigeon Hill Trail parking lot).  Heading first to New Salem and then Brumby towards the visitor center around the base of the mountain. We will stop at the visitor center for a quick restroom stop. We will then continue up and over the mountain. If you desire to go ahead you must wait for all of the group at Burnt Hickory road. This will bring us back to our cars if you want to switch any gear out. We will then continue onto the Hardage Mill trail, there are HILLS in this section. We will cross Dallas highway and take the Cease Fire trail to the Kolb's Farm West trail we will continue on Kolb's Farm East Trail to Cheatham hill and pass the tomb of the unknown soldier and come up behind the Illinois monument.  We will stop here for a brief late lunch/snack.  We will proceed across Dallas Highway heading back this time via gravel path back towards the Burnt Hickory parking lot.

Hike at a MODERATE pace (2.5 to 3 MPH); but will stop for regrouping at strategic intersections.  If you are unfamiliar with  hiking this distance - this might not be for you. If you have not completed a strenuous D4 recently, you must email hiking information (distance, elevation, time) to the trip leader; otherwise we will put you on the waitlist.
