Itinerary:

Currahee Mountain is a prominent Landmark in Northeast Georgia.

Near Toccoa, GA, it is known for the Battle of Currahee, the Treaty of Hopewell and as a training ground for WW2 paratroopers known as "The Band of Brothers" and this mountain was featured in the film about this same group.

The peak at 1735 feet has an expansive view of North Georgia as well as radio towers which serve North Georgia.

This is an out and back hike of 5.8 miles and an elevation gain of 1040 feet.

This is going to be at a moderately fast pace of about 3mph.

We should reach the top in time to witness a beautiful sunset and have a snack then head on back to our cars.

The last thirty to forty minutes of this hike will be in the dark but the trail is wide.

Flashlight or phone light will be needed.
