Come out and enjoy a beautiful hike on the Cumberland Trail Rock Creek Loop. Then get ready for an urban hike if time permits and and a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Tennessee River.

We will begin our journey on The Rock Creek Loop Trail.
The scenic loop descends into Rock Creek Gorge and affords a number of scenic overlooks and waterfalls. Wildflowers are especially beautiful on this trail in the spring and early summer. The Chance to see eagles and the endangered plant Large Flowered Skullcap are among the attractions of a hike along the Rock Creek Segment of the Cumberland Trail. This hike will be about 6 miles.
After finishing on the Rock Creek Trail we will drive to Chattanooga for a Sunset Cruise Aboard The Blue Moon. If time permits we will walk around Chattanooga. Boarding Time is at 5:30 PM. The Cruise departs at 6:00 PM and lasts for 2 1/2 hours.
Dinner is included in the cost. Dinner is a choice of Bar-b-que Chicken or pulled Pork, Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Brownies, Tea
The Blue Moon has a full bar to purchase adult beverages. Please keep in mind that if you are the driver please do not drink alcohol.

As we cruise, you will be able to enjoy historical narration by Captain Dave on Native Americans, the War Between the States and other fascinating local history.

Our slow relaxing pace and on-board binoculars allow opportunities to view the diverse wildlife along the river. The lights of the city and nighttime on the river set a serene and magical atmosphere for the return trip.

The intimate atmosphere along with the view of the Tennessee River Gorge and Chattanooga's city lights makes this an unforgettable private-yacht experience"

From Atlanta, GA: take I-75 N to I-24 W
from Birmingham, AL: take I-59 N to I-24E
from Knoxville, TN: take I-75 S to I-24 W
from Nashville, TN: take I-24 E

From I-24 in Chattanooga:

Take I-24 to downtown Chattanooga; take exit for US Hwy 27N.
Take exit 1-A (MLK Blvd); turn left at bottom of exit.
Follow MLK Blvd until it deadends at Riverfront Parkway
Turn right onto Riverfront Parkway - go less than 1/2 mile
The City Pier is directly across from Power Alley. Power Alley is the street one block left of Chestnut Street. The Pier where the Blue Moon is docked is directly across the street from the pay lots at Ross’s Landing/City Pier.

PARKING:
Once Riverfront Pkwy turns into one lane you will see parking on the right. When using the pay lot, we suggest you choose the $5 all-day ticket (a 4-hour ticket is only $1 less). This ensures that you do not receive a ticket if we encounter a delay in getting you back to the dock.
Parking along the street is FREE after 4:30 PM.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $88.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

There is free parking in Chattanooga on the street but your drive may have to park in the paid lot.
Please remember to split the parking fee of $5

Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

- Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

- Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

- Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

- No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

- Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
*Note: Cancellations before April 19th get a full refund minus the $5 AOC administrative fee.
Cancellations After April 19th will only be refunded if a member takes your place. Full payment is due to the Blue Moon company for this event on April 20th. You must have checks or paypal payments in by the 19th with no exceptions. The best way to pay is Go to The My Upcoming Events link under events. There will be al list of all your upcoming events.
