Sweetwater State Park offers a wide variety of terrains and difficulties which makes it one of the best parks in Georgia. We will begin our hike at the Interpretive Center promptly at 6:15PM. This week we will hike the WHITE trail and the RED trail giving us a great exercise! We will get to see wildflowers and other unique plants along the way. Of course we can't rule out seeing deer and other beautiful animals as well...even the common squirrel! The White trail is your standard foot trail for the most part but as we progress into the Red trail we can expect to do some rock traversing as the well-warn trail along the river is much like the riverbed itself. However, at our D2 pace we will accomplish this easily. Total of 4 miles. Rated D2 this hike is good for those who want to prepare for D3 hikes. The trails at Sweetwater are both easy and challenging at the same time as rocks, roots, and hills will keep you on your toes! A little about myself. I spent 5 years with the Georgia State Parks and consider every minute some of the happiest minutes I've ever experienced. With that said, I hope to bring a little more to the table with my knowledge of plants, animals, and history. So, join me Monday for a 4 mile hike at Sweetwater and stretch those legs! **This event WILL be cancelled if the weather does not cooperate...that includes RAIN. **If you ARE or THINK you are running late PLEASE CALL ME. (678-873-9092) **READ** $5.00 Parking FEE (Exact Cash). No fee for those with Annual State Park passes. Visitor Center will be CLOSED. | |||||||
