Looking for a challenging workout in preparation for an upcoming D4 - D6 event, hike, adventure trip, or working towards achieving a personal fitness goal?  This hiking and boot camp fitness training event will help you towards achieving your fitness goals and have fun while doing it!

Please join us for this 'Interval Hiking & Boot Camp Fitness Training' event!  This event is for those seeking fitness or fitness maintenance.  We will strive to maintain a fast hiking pace,  while conducting interval boot camp fitness training exercises before, during, and after the hike.

Our boot camp Instructor for this morning event will be, Traci Smith.  Traci has been heavily involved in fitness for 6+ years.  She has worked as a personal trainer in a popular fitness center chain.  Traci is very dedicated to her children, but finds the time to be dedicated to her fitness training as well.  Being an Instructor of outdoor Boot Camp is a big change from being in the gym!!!!  The passion that Traci has for fitness will be felt by everyone, as your fitness goals are being achieved.

We will muster in front of the visitor center at 7:45 AM, and begin our interval training no later than 8:00 AM, near the visitor center grounds.  After our initial boot camp warm up exercises, we will hike 1.2 miles to the 1808 ft. top of Kennesaw Mountain, while continuing to perform boot camp style exercises during the hike up/down,  and at the top of the mountain.  From the top of Kennesaw Mountain, we will head back down to the visitor center and begin the process over for a second round of boot camp exercises & hiking.  The group pace of this hike will be set by the trip leader and drill instructor, and we will be striving to maintain a fast pace so as to keep this as a fitness-oriented hike and boot camp training exercise.

The total hiking distance is approximately 4.8 miles.  Endurance and a strong burning desire to achieve your fitness goal is the name of the game for this fun event!  You should be in good to excellent condition for this event!  It is strenuous and heart pumping and is intended to be a workout to help you meet your fitness goals.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Directions and Parking:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way. You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it. Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first redlight which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second redlight. If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7) Stay on Old US 41 until you pass in front of the mountain and park on the right-hand side of the road (or in the new parking lot on the left) after passing the redlight for Stilesboro Road.

FYI: The new parking lot - approximately 270 spaces, is now open but parking on Old Highway 41 is not yet closed. Park by Old Highway 41 or in this new parking lot - whichever you feel more comfortable with.

8) Last resort / panic mode / all available parking spaces have been taken: When this happens, here is where to park - Turn around and head back in front of the mountain on Old 41. Take the first left which is White Circle Road. Take the first right which is White Road Court. Park on the side of the road.
