Wednesday morning is a great time for another hike at Vickery Creek! We will hike 4-5 miles of these trails at a moderate including visiting the old dam on Big Creek and perhaps the covered bridge. This will be a great event for new hikers who are in good condition.

All of the NCRA parks have a parking fee of $3 cash, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass ($25). Alternately, you can park across the street and meet us in the Vickery Creek parking lot to save the three dollar fee.

PAY ATTENTION!! The entrance to the parking area is VERY difficult to spot if you aren't expecting it. Coming from Roswell Road, it is the left turn immediately after the little bridge onto the cement driveway. If you get to the park on your right, you've already passed it. If you're driving on Riverside Road, it's the right turn into the cement driveway just before you get to the little bridge before the light at Roswell Road. It is just past the park (which would be on your left in this direction.

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails.

From Northbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 6 for Northridge Road
Stay RIGHT onto Northridge Road crossing bridge
Take first RIGHT onto Dunwoody Place, go 1.3 miles
Turn RIGHT at Ga. 9 (Roswell Road), go 0.6 miles
Cross river turn RIGHT onto Riverside Road.
Almost immediately, less than 0.1 mile, turn LEFT at park entrance.

From Southbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 7 for Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road)
Turn RIGHT onto Ga. 140 East (Holcomb Bridge Road), go 0.2 mile
Turn LEFT at Dogwood Road, go 1.0 miles
Continue STRAIGHT on Riverside Road, go 1.0 mile
Turn RIGHT at park entrance just before the bridge.
