Itinerary:

Let's do a little leg stretcher on a Friday afternoon. We're meeting in the first parking lot on your left and doing the 3.5ish mile "lollipop" at Island Ford. The pace will be moderate and there are some hills and elevation changes to get your heart pumping. There are no restrooms by this parking lot.

** beginners welcome ** This is a good hike for someone who is looking to get back in to shape.

All of the NCRA parks have a parking fee of $3 cash, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass ($25). Island Ford has the Ranger's station where you can buy your yearly pass. Come a few minutes early and go all the way down to the back of the park and you'll run right in to the station (and restrooms).

Please call one of the trip leaders if you are running late. We won't wait, so you'll have to catch up with the group if you do arrive late.

We'll allow up to three dogs on this hike. Please cooperate with the posted rules. AOC is very visible and it is important we portray a good image. Off leash dogs have been known to chase animals, injure animals and stir up yellow jackets. Additionally, some hikers are afraid of dogs. A leashed dog allows the owner to better control it and makes the hike more comfortable for all involved. Dogs must be on leash at all times, no exceptions.
