Itinerary:

Vickery Creek is a beautiful section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. We will hike between 4 and 5 miles of these trails at a moderate to fast pace including visiting the old dam on Big Creek. I don't have a route planned but we will do the "cliffs". They are not super technical but they may not be fun for you if you aren't sure footed and/or don't like heights. I hate heights and I'm just fine. I heard recently they cut back the overgrown trail after the cliffs so we'll take that.

This is a more fast paced hike and not recommended for beginners - - but it's not as fast as a fitness hike.

All of the NCRA parks have a parking fee of $3 cash, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass ($25).

Please call Joyce if you are running late. Lauren won't wait, so you'll have to catch up with the group if you do arrive late.

water, gatorade or whatever you like to keep hydrated (important)
close toed shoes

From Northbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 6 for Northridge Road
Stay RIGHT onto Northridge Road crossing bridge
Take first RIGHT onto Dunwoody Place, go 1.3 miles
Turn RIGHT at Ga. 9 (Roswell Road), go 0.6 miles
Cross river turn RIGHT onto Riverside Road, go less than 0.1 mile
Turn LEFT at park entrance


From Southbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 7 for Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road)
Turn RIGHT onto Ga. 140 East (Holcomb Bridge Road), go 0.2 mile
Turn LEFT at Dogwood Road, go 1.0 miles
Continue STRAIGHT on Riverside Road, go 1.0 mile
Turn RIGHT at park entrance
