Itinerary:

You have an option this evening - - once or twice around the park = 3 miles or twice around = 6 miles.  Be aware that if you do the double loop, the ending time will be around 8:15 PM.

For those opting to do one time around, we'll go in a clockwise direction at a moderate pace;  for those wanting more of a workout, we'll take the second loop a bit faster, and go in a counter-clockwise direction.  The trail is wide and even, so it's a really great place for a safe hike.

This park is a big surprise to folks who see it for the first time.  Many people drive past it every day, never realizing what a charming area it is for hiking.  

This is a dog-friendly park, with many dogs on the trail.  You are welcome to bring your dog as long as you keep it on leash and clean up any messes that it makes.  There is a fenced in "off leash" area if you'd like for your dog to be able to run free and play with other dogs.

There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park. 

Please call or text me if you are running late.  I plan to start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early, in case you have to park your car in the overflow lot about 1/8 mile from the pavilion lot.  My number is 404-788-4089.  Be sure to identify yourself by name if you leave me a message.

YOU WILL SEE A CVS STORE ACROSS THE STREET on the corner.  THE PARK IS JUST PASSED THE BIG TARGET SHOPPING CENTER ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE STREET.

It's best to use maps.google.com and map directions from your destination. You can go to maps.google.com and enter the bold text below in to the search bar. If you chose Satelite View, you can see a birdseye view of the parking lot.

There are three entrances to the area:  one for the dog park, the second for the arts center building , and the third for the walking trails.  There is a green roofed pavillion very close to Woodstock Rd. at this third entrance. You can see it easily from the road and it says "Leita Thompson Pavillion." There is a road on the East side of that and it leads directly to our parking area. 

You may want to (or need to) park in the overflow parking lot that can be accessed from the main lot if the main lot is full.  It's only 1/8 of a mile down a shaded road.
