Itinerary:

We will walk North along the shady banks of the Chattahoochee all the way to the dam at Lake Lanier, and return to our cars along a slightly different route. On the way back we may see some deer. This hike offers nice views of the river, the dam, and Lake Lanier, so you may want to bring your camera. Optional: After the hike we will have lunch and drive a short distance to the Lower Overlook parking lot, to participate in the afternoon hike and swim on the Laurel Ridge Trail. (Dogs are not allowed on that trail).

From the Park and Ride go north on I 85, and take the I 985 exit. Continue a little under 4 miles on I 985 until Exit 4. At the top of the ramp take a left onto SR 20. Proceed about 7.6 miles on SR 20 and take a right onto River Club Rd and proceed 0.6 miles. Turn right onto Trout Place Rd. and proceed 0.4 miles. We will meet in front of 3195 Trout Place Rd., Cumming, GA 30041, which is right before the entrance to the Fish Hatchery. Parking is allowed at designated areas on the side of the road.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $20.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
