Itinerary:

This park opened on 7/1/11 and is Georgia's first new state park since Tallulah Gorge State Park opened in 1993. It occupies 2,900 acres of varied natural land in western Coweta County, with seven miles of river frontage along the Chattahoochee River. Georgia has 45 state parks and this is the fifth largest.

We will walk a loop that will include all trails in the park as well as a few back roads. Our plan is to hike at a moderate pace with time to enjoy our surroundings.

We plan to stop to eat at Momma Goldberg's after the hike (optional if you would like to join us). Momma Goldberg's is very close to Exit 47 of I 85. If you need to get back to Atlanta early on this day, please take that into consideration.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

The park's office is located at 425 Bobwhite Way Newnan, GA 30263. Once you get there continue on Bobwhite Way until its end at the parking lot on the banks of the Chattahooche. We will start the hike from the parking lot.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $32.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
