Tuesday Morning at Vickery Creek--Roswell Mill Parking Lot

Vickery Creek is a beautiful section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. We will hike around 4 miles of these trails at a moderate pace including visiting the old dam on Big Creek. 

We will leave promptly at 10 am, so allow enough time for a wrong turn on your way, heavier traffic than you expected, and use of the bathroom.

This is a hike that is appropriate for folks who can handle the distance with some mild elevation changes throughout the area.  If you've done some D2 events or feel that you're ready to try your first D2, then sign up.  Our pace will not be fast . . .  so give it a try.  We will stop if necessary to catch our breath and hydrate. You won't be left behind!

We will be meeting at the parking lot down the road from the Roswell Mill entrance, which is at the intersection of S. Atlanta Road and Marietta Road (I20) in Roswell.  There is a traffic light at this intersection.

We will gather at the free parking area that accesses the Vickery Creek CNRA.  The road to the lot is at the intersection of 120 and S. Atlanta Road, known as Roswell Mill. Use either the physical address below or the coordinates to get your own directions. We are meeting behind all of the shops at Roswell Mill.  Keep driving down the road till you pass the buildings, turning right at the dead end (Mill Rd.) to the parking lot.  The lot is about 1/4 mile from the intersection.

There is a bathroom at this parking area!  Please allow enough time to use the bathroom before time to leave.

We'll allow up to three people to bring dogs on this hike.  If you see three people already registered with dogs, please do not add yours.  Dogs must be kept on leash on this hike.  It's the law (carrying a $75 penalty)!  Additionally, dogs off leash can be a tripping hazard to hikers - - so please be considerate of others.
