Itinerary:

It's time for another of my wonderful *You Can Do It Hikes*!  This hike series is especially designed for folks who are newer to hiking or just want to go at a more leisurely pace.  We do stay together as a group, stop for pictures when the situation warrants it and generally just go at a more relaxed speed. We will be hiking sections of the Blue, White, and Red trails on this hike and will end at the awesome visitor's center.  The visitor's center is not part of the official AOC hike - but is free and well worth exploring!

Sweetwater State Conservation Park is one of the treasures to be found near metro Atlanta. This park offers beauty and wildlife viewing for visitors all year long in addition to some Civil War history. The park sets atop the Brevard Fault which makes the terrain steeper than the surrounding areas. The creek itself offers many scenic spots as it tumbles over the shoals and the natural dam nearby.

This is a five mile hike, and while there will be some easy rock scrambling and just a little bit of elevation change, it is still perfect for the newcomer to hiking.  We will take our time and stay together as a group!

Note: there is a $5 per vehicle parking fee. No carpool for this event.

Dogs are welcome but need to be on a 6 foot leash.
