Itinerary:

The hike is about 11 miles round trip at a moderate pace. We will start at the top of the falls at the trailhead. Please plan on bringing a small lunch/snack. We will stop at the Hike Inn for our lunch break. The Inn will often have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees, but this is not guaranteed. There are generally beverages as well, including hot water for tea and cocoa, so you can warm up before heading back down the trail. It is possible to see the Atlanta skyline from one of the vistas on the hike during the winter if it is clear.

Be prepared to dress warm for the hike with temperatures in the 30s in the morning!

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. Instead of parking in the Visitors Center lot, take a left before the lot and head up the hill to the Trailhead.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
