Itinerary:

Join us for the 1st of the Canyon Climber series: Providence Canyon. This series of four hikes will take in Providence Canyon, Cloudland Canyon, Tallulah Gorge and last but not least Amicalola Falls from the bottom of the staircase!!!

We will start with the 7-mile Backcountry Trail Loop following the creek beds in and out of the the various canyons.  Once we have completed the Backcountry trail we will do the shorter Canyon Loop, bringing our hiking distance to around 10-12 miles.

For those who are interested in purchasing a Canyon Climbers Club card or getting their card punched, we will be stopping at Florence Marina State Park after the hike.  The Marina is ~8 miles west of Cloudland Canyon State Park.  For information on the Canyon Climbers Club, check out this link: - http://www.gastateparks.org/CanyonClimbers

The requirements for Part 1 are as follows: Club members need to hike the loop trail, with a side trip into scenic canyon 5, to complete their 1.5-mile quest.  Because the park's visitor center is now closed, membership cards are punched at Florence Marina State Park, a short drive away.

We will be stopping for dinner on the way back.  If you are interested in stopping, make sure to coordinate with others in the carpool to make sure everyone is on the same page.
