Itinerary: | |||||||
Join us as we participate in the 5th Annual Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade. We hope you either make or buy a lantern. There are workshops available through beltline.org where you can make it ahead of time (please be sure to sign up for these on your own), you can order a kit to make one through beltlline.org (ships starting August 5 - that's why registration opens on the 4th) or make one following online instructions or using a kit which can be found online. However you aquire a lantern is up to you - make, beg, borrow or steal. Your TLs are leaving that one up to you. Here is the plan: We'll leave from the Charles Allen entrance at Piedmont Park at 6:30pm. We will walk approximately 2 miles to the start of the Parade which will start at Irwin and Krog. There will be a tailgate party there in the parking lot. The parade departs that location at 8:30pm. The parade route takes the same path back (the Beltline) to Piedmont Park so you will end up where we parked. The Beltline folks have suggested hanging out on the grassy area around Park Tavern as we enter Piedmont Park. You are welcome to bring a blanket and hang out and see what kind of fun stuff is going on. The AOC event "officially" ends when the parade ends. Party all night if you want!
