Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

We will begin our adventure by climbing to the top of Rabun Bald (Georgia's second highest peak at 4696'), this STRENUOUS 2.9 mile track (5.8 miles return) will cover over 2000 feet of ascent! At the top we will stop for lunch and take in the great views before we descend back down to our cars.

Once back to the cars we will drive to the magnificent Whiteside Mountain (If time permits we will stop at some Waterfalls on the way). We will summit Whiteside Mountain and take in the great views then proceed to the Devil's Courthouse and overlook before returning to our cars.

If the group is interested we will plan on eating on the way back. Please plan your carpool accordingly.

I will allow up to 3 well behaved dogs on this hike.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $98.80 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

There is limited parking at the Rabun Bald trailhead. There is a $2 per car fee at Whiteside Mountain car park.
