Itinerary:

Fort Yargo State Park is located approximately 50 miles ENE from Atlanta. Join us for a moderately paced hike around the lake on the Yellow Blazed trail.

This relatively flat and fun 7-mile hike follows the trail around the shores of the lake offering some great views as well as heading inland through forested sections of the park. 

If you choose to meet at the Event please note that we will be meeting at Parking Area B!

How to Get There:

The following is the direction from the Indian Trail Carpool:

Take I-85 North to Exit 106 (GA 316 East) towards Lawrenville/Athens

Travel on GA-316 E University Parkway for approximately 21.5 miles to GA-81 North

Turn left and travel on GA-81 N Loganville Highway for approximatley 1.8 miles

Turn right on "Area B" Park entrance and go .5 miles till it dead ends near the lake.

We'll meet at the parking lot on the left, near the lake.

 

Alternatively, the GPS Coordinates I provide above should take you to our meeting location.

 

Note: DO NOT drive to "Area A" or main Park entrance. THIS IS NOT WHERE WE'RE MEETING..

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $23.20 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

There's $5 per vehichle parking fees.  Parking is free for those with GA state parks parking passes.
