Itinerary:

Not a fitness pace, but rather a brisk morning hike through the Vickery Creek area.

The Vickery Creek section of the Chattahooche National Recreation Area contains many miles of interconnected hiking trails. Our plan is to hike about five miles miles of these trails which include some sections of rocks and roots as well as some easy-to-maneuver sections.

This is not a hike for beginners or for folks who can't handle a moderately fast pace on hilly, often rocky terrain. If you can handle the distance and don't mind pushing yourself a little on some hills, come give it a try. Well stop as needed for water and to catch our breath . . . and I won't leave you behind.

If you bring your dog, you are expected to obey the leash law. The reputation of the AOC is at stake if we break the law and allow dogs to run loose during our hikes.

We are starting and parking on Oxbo Road. The lot is ON Oxbo Rd. (Not the lot in the Waller extention area.) It is free to park here! Directions below.

We will meet at the Oxbo parking lot on Oxbo Road, off of Route 9/120, Atlanta Street, Roswell GA. There is a gas station on the corner of Atlanta Street and Oxbo where you have to turn. The lot is on your right about 1/2 mile down the road.

Notes:

Sorry - - no restroom facilities at this entrance. If you have enough time, you can use the Roswell Mill entrance bathroom before driving on to Oxbo Road.
