for inviting the AOC to participate in their big annual

Spring Tune Up Ride in Madison GA!

It will be 3 days of riding, camping, and local entertainment, as well as s’mores, plenty of opportunities to hang out with friends - new and old, and local HAPPY HOUR specials as well as live music on Friday and Saturday!!

As if this isn’t inviting enough, there will be two bands at the overnight site, William “Bill” Wood Park (formerly Heritage Park), on Saturday evening, April 18.  Happy Hour Friday and Saturday afternoons at the Brady Inn in downtown Madison. Fat Tire Beer will be available along with Coca-Cola products. All this set in the quaint area of Madison GA.

As all are welcome to ride as many days and miles as they choose, Trena and Jerry will be in attendance for the Saturday ride as part of an AOC Group (Jerry will be there Friday - Sun). This is a day ride as part of their Spring Tune-Up Ride, and Saturday is the best and busist for a true BRAG experience. The mileage options are 100, 57, 32, 10.  While this AOC event is posted for the 32 mile option, you are welcome to do the longer ride. The fee includes camping either the night before or the night after if people want to camp, this years they are having bands on Saturday night. We will meet at the BRAG Headquarters in Madison, GA to start our ride. All levels of experience are welcome, as well as all types of bikes but would strongly recommend a road bike or hybrid.  It's not a race so you can ride at your own pace, you will not be expected to stay together as an AOC group, there will be lots of other riders and you may find others that are your pace you'd prefer to ride with.  We could all meet up later  or meet up for lunch (if you're not full from the great rest stops they offer on the ride) we'll discuss in the am. 

Maps are included but the route is clearly marked.  There is food, drink and porta potties located at the rest stops along the way every 15 to 20 miles.

There is no organized group start.  It's a ride not a race.  There will be a Newcomers' Meeting at 7:30am for first-time BRAG riders. We will plan to attend the meeting and start riding afterwards.

NOTE: For safety, helmet required to be worn during this event.  No helmet, no bike ride.

BRAG Summary:

BRAG will be designating an area for AOC members to camp together.   We will tent camp in town in a beautiful downtown park, near restaurants and pubs. RV camping with no hook ups is also available. CLEAN HOT showers will be available on site!

Yes, you can also sleep in your car near the tents and campers! 

Can’t make all 3 days? Can’t ride for 3 days and not walk funny? That’s no problem! You’re open to choose your days accordingly

BRAG’s AOC Special

BRAG is offering AOC members 25% off the registration fee until February 15, 2015, for the Spring Tune-Up Ride, April 17-19, 2015.  Don’t delay.  Get your registration in so you can usher in the cycling season again in Madison, GA, at the 22^nd annual Spring Tune-Up Ride. or download a paper registration and mail it in with your check.  The 3- day fee of $100 ($75 if done in time) is cheaper than another state ride at $150 for three days. The discount also applies for the one or two day riding option!

THE AOC DISCOUNT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF YOU REGISTER ON THE BRAG SITE BEFORE FEBRUARY 15, 2015.

REGISTERING ON THE AOC SITE ALONE WILL NOT GET YOU THE DISCOUNTED RATE, IN FACT IT WON’T GET YOU REGISTERED WITH BRAG!

YOU MUST REGISTER WITH BOTH BRAG and THE AOC BY FEBRUARY 15.

Registrations after the 15^th are welcome to ride with us, but you will be responsible for paying BRAG the full fee.

There is a drop box on the registration page that asks if you’re an AOC member.          This is how you will receive a 25% discount for an extended time.                           Don’t delay! Register by February 15 for special pricing.
