Itinerary:

We will go at a steady, moderate pace, with some stops. This is an in and out hike with a total distance of approximately 11 miles and vertical rise of about 2,000 feet, We will be hiking east on the Appalachian Trail from Tesnatee Gap to Low Gap. The hike includes several climbs and descents with a scenic view of Towns Creek Valley and the Georgia piedmont from the top of Wildcat Mountain. Wildcat Mountain has a rocky summit similar to Blood Mountain. There is a shelter at Low Gap which will be our lunch spot. We will also leave the option open to hike down to Whitley Gap Shelter near Wildcat Mountain if time allows.

Trail food/lunch
Hiking boots or shoes

Trekking poles

Change of shoes and shirt for drive back
Emergency rain gear (even if it is clear day with a 20 percent chance of rain)

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver.
