Itinerary:

We will walk portions of the blue, yellow and red trail sections. They will take us along steep slopes overlooking the Etowah River, Allatoona Dam, and Allatoona Lake. We may encounter hawk, fox, or deer and see wild grapevines, poplar trees and azalea bushes. Vineyard Mountain Trail was developed as an Eagle Scout service project.

From Atlanta go to I-75 Exit 285. Drive about 1 mile east on Red Top Mountain Rd. The parking lot is on the left, right before the bridge over Lake Allatona. Since the parking lot is small, carpooling is recommended.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $20.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
