Itinerary:

This hike will take place in the Clinton Nature Preserve area, and it will consist of three loops that end and begin either at, or very close to, the trailhead, so that if you get tired you may end your hike earlier. The preserve has clean bathroom facilities.
This 200-acre park was donated to Douglas County by Ms. Annie Mae Clinton. The park is required by Ms. Clinton's will to remain in its natural state as much as possible. The park contains nature trails, and open exploration areas.

About one mile into the woods (by hiking), is the Carnes Cabin, a pre-Civil War residence, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

CLINTON NATURE PRESERVE is located at 8720 Ephesus Church Road one mile west of Post Road. The Post Road/Ephesus Church Road intersection is one-half mile south of the Post Road/Interstate 20 interchange. Once you enter the preserve, continue on the access road until it dead ends. There is an unpaved parking lot on the right.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $32.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
