Wow! What a wonderful hike!  It was a bit chilly in the morning, but once we got started we warmed right up!  Everyone was so cordial and fun, and the leisurely pace allowed us all to "look up" and enjoy the views around us.  We got to see where the previous trees fell on the road, where the previous fire affected the trail, the bamboo forest whistling quietly in the wind, the view "across the river" to the apartments, and even the peak of East Palisades, some 250' above the river.  For some, it was their first East Palisades hike, for others, some new paths never taken.  Charlie was able to join us and provide a cornucopia of great information about the trails and foliage.  All in all, an excellent challenging D2 with plenty of rollercoaster elevation changes and beautiful views.  Blue Skies Smilin the whole time!
