Richard's hikes are always adventurous, and today's was no exception. It was an unusual combination of an asphalt walkway, a cement sidewalk, a woodsy trail, and a bit of exploration on some "off the map" paths. An event including both East and West Palisades is unusual, so we were all delighted to learn how the two great parks can actually connect. No critters out today, but the poison ivy was abundant. (Hopefully everyone on the hike washed up well after the hike.)

The parking lot at the Whitewater entrance was more crowded than I've ever seen it. Not only was the lot full by 8:30 am, but every possible spot along the trailhead road was taken, and cars were lined up down Whitewater Creek Road when we left. We were not the only ones to think that today was a beautiful day to be outside! ~ Joyce
