Never trust the weather reports! We had a 40-60% chance of rain for our hike, with thunderstorms almost a sure thing, but Dorothea - - wise in the ways of the North Georgia Mountains - - felt we had a good chance NOT to get rained upon. We had our valuables safely stored in plastic bags and decided to get in as much of the trail as we could before the rain came. But come it did NOT! We almost wished for some cooling precipitation because of the oppressively hot/humid day - - but we were delighted with what the trail had to offer, and we thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the 9 mile hike. ~ Joyce
