This was, after all, Richard's hike. So for the first half mile or so, our feet trod upon earth never before touched by human feet.  :-)  After eventually coming upon a suitable trail, we kept a steady pace for the entire hike, covering 5.5 miles from the Sope Creek section to the middle Cochran Shoals area and back.
Though warmer than earlier in the week, we still enjoyed the mild temperature. The group was well-suited to tackling the hills and the pace, even our brand new AOC member, Kelley! (Welcome to the Club, Kelley!)
Only a few bicycles on the trails today - - and the riders were actually polite, thanking us for moving aside. Nice! ~ Joyce
