Fri, Oct 4 2019 - Friday Morning at Red Top Mountain State Park (View Original Event Details)
|
We had one last hike in the heat to bid farewell to summer (hopefully) as we hiked the trails at Red Top Mountain State Park. We covered all of the White Tail trail, the Homestead loop plus another 1.5 miles of sweet gum trail.
We spent some time down by the lake and the views were spectatular. Also with the water level of Lake Allatoona down about 10-12 feet, we were able to walk out into the lake in spots normally underwater. The group was keeping together and were up for the brisk pace as we finished about 20 minutes early from our planned hike time. We covered 5.5 miles in a little over 2 hours.
