This hike was surprising in many ways.  We got a good soaker at the beginning of the hike, but everyone was willing to hike and there was no lightning...so off we went.  The smells of the earth after a rain are always interesting....and I enjoyed that.  The pace was fast despite the weather.  We were delighted by deer sightings, the taste of mulberries, an OTTER, turtle, and hummingbirds.  The hike ended with blue, sunny skies, and happy hikers.
