The weather was great for a drive and hike event. Meeting at the Visitor Center parking lot, the event went according to plan covering seven of the eleven stops before lunch. We stopped to have lunch at about noon at the Illinois Monument than did the last four stops. We finished the last stop and turned in our paperwork showing them the pictures of the location and the pictures we took of each other at that location. Ranger Mary discovered one mistake we she reviewed the paperwork. We went to the plaque dedicated to Col Dan McCook not the Monument where he started his charge up Cheatham Hill. Thus, back to Cheatham Hill to get the correct picture. Once again, we returned to the Visitor Center. It took us longer to drive to and from the Visitor Center than to walk to the monument to get our pictures. Once in the Visitor Center Ranger Mary took your paperwork, gave us our patches, and Ranger Jake took our picture.
