Fifteen Atlanta Outdoor Club hikers enjoyed a 5.4-mile hike today at Westside Park (also known as Shirley Clarke Franklin Park). We also hiked along Proctor Creek Greenway and around the Grove Park neighborhood. We also visited Bankhead Seafood -- a local restaurant with a 50-year history in the neighborhood. This is an urban hike that the club rarely hosts. The scenery is diverse - it includes a huge rock quarry, skyline views of Atlanta, large sculptures, pleasant trails along Proctor Creek, a hike through an urban neighborhood and paths through wooded areas. We had a fun time and enjoyed perfect weather conditions!
