Write Up:We had a magical day discovering Dunaway Gardens and seeing the unique Serenbe community near Newnan, GA. Rich Hull, friends with the owner of Dunaway Gardens, arranged for our group to have free admission into the garden. We spent two hours wandering through the grounds, filling our cameras with photos. Then, we headed to The Blue-Eyed Daisy Cafe/Bakery in the Serenbe community, where we feasted on delicious sandwiches, salads, and pastries - - all home grown and home made. [Serenbe is a community of about 400 people who have come together to support an organic farm and land-use plan that ecourages conservation of agricultural land.] Since Serenbe was new to most of us, we took time to browse through the unique shops on Selbourne Lane till it was time to head back to the carpool. The weather was warm - - but perfect for a non-strenuous event. Next on tap: exploring the hiking trails of Serenbe!
