Our amicable group of 16 hikers and 3 canines doffed our winter clothing and donned sunscreen for an enjoyable trek on this summer-like day. Shout-outs to Allan for showing us some off-the-beaten-path trails, Colleen for her very first AOC event, and Joan for her 100th!
We completed several creek crossings, appreciating the phlox, buttercups, violets and other flora in wild bloom. We were amazed by a giant cloud of tadpoles* in a shallow, quiet section of the creek. We were interested to see another side of Morgan Falls Dam, as we are more accustomed to glimpsing the side visible from Gold Branch.
Joyce and I thank you for a real good time! ~Lisa
*I looked it up - a group of tadpoles is called a "cloud." (A group of frogs is an "army.")
