Some of the trails at Island Ford were muddy from the recent rains, but what's a little shoe-slime among friends? The evening was warm and humid--perfect for working up a healthy sweat during our two-hour jaunt. We were treated to a sighting of a giant blue heron and a turtle sunning on a log, as well as beautiful trails on which to share friendly conversation. We welcomed Peter, a new AOC member, and Faria, an almost brand- new member! And we enjoyed a sample of Erica's future trip-leading skills!
